Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) recruits, trains, and supports Registered/Licensed and Legally Exempt child care providers with all aspects of beginning and maintaining a small business. Quality Improvement Grants are available to Registered/Licensed and Legally Exempt child care providers to improve the quality of the care they are providing through program assessment, training, material and technical support.

Our REFERRAL SPECIALIST can locate child care options and provide referrals and information of what to look for in quality child care for parents. CCR&R supports efforts of community planners and developers in meeting the community's child care needs, identifies unmet needs in child care, and works to find meaningful child care solutions. Services are available to all parents, community businesses, and locally-based employees of corporations who offer enhanced child care services to their employees. The INFANT/TODDLER NETWORK assists in promoting quality infant/toddler care in New York State. An Infant/Toddler Specialist trains child care professionals, parents, and regional CCR&R staff in infant/toddler best practices, and provides professional development opportunities for infant/toddler caregivers. This service is available to Broome, Tioga, Cortland, Chenango and Tompkins Counties child care providers, parents and community agencies for free. Please call extension 826.

BUILDING BRIGHTER FUTURES FOR BROOME: Five agencies and organizations have brought their individual specialties and perspectives together to focus on children 0-3 years of age. Our Mentor Teachers visit child care providers' homes that are caring for infants and toddlers and the visits focus on infant/toddler best practices and brain development to promote early learning.

HEALTH & SAFETY TRAINING offers a workshop facilitated by our certified Trainers for providers in the process of becoming Licensed or Registered Child Care Providers.For information, please call extension 894

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT/TRAINING program for child care providers consists of Saturday Seminars, evening workshops, on-site workshops for centers, after school programs and family day care providers and CPR/First Aid certification. All trainings and workshops assist providers in meeting NYS OCFS training requirements. Providers may choose to access EIP funds for training. HEALTH CARE CONSULTANT assists childcare programs in developing and monitoring Health Care Plans and Policies that are consistent with New York state regulations and safe health practices. Our Health Care Consultant can also serve as a resource providing technical assistance to childcare programs in developing and maintaining appropriate health care procedures and safeguards.
