Quality Improvement Grants are available to help Legally Exempt providers and providers in the process of becoming registered or licensed increase the quality or care they are providing through program assessment, training, and material and technical support.
The Quality Improvement Grant consists of a minimum of three home visits. During the first visit, the Quality Improvement Specialist will conduct an informal evaluation of the program using the Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale (FCCERS) to determine the program needs, as well as discuss what the provider is interested in getting the program. The application will then be reviewed by the grant committee for approval. After approval, the Quality Improvement Specialist will order the approved supplies. When received, the Quality Improvement Specialist will deliver the supplies, as well as provide any training necessary. The final visit will include a follow-up evaluation to determine if the program quality improved with the grant.
