Quality Improvement Grants
Eligibility
Quality Improvement Grants are available to in-process
Registered and Licensed Family/Group Family Child Care Providers
and erolled Legally Exempt Child Care Providers who meet the
following criteria:
- Meet income eligibility guidelines as determined by New York
State's Bureau of Early Childhood Services. (Exceptions may
be made to address priority areas below.)
- Live in a residence that complies with the state and local
housing codes.
- Be in the process of becoming a registered or licensed
family/group child care provider.
Grants will be prioritized to potential providers in the
following order:
- Potential family child care providers (in the process of
becoming licensed or registered) who are low-income.
- Potential providers (in the process of becoming licensed or
registered) who will offer care for children of low-income
families
- Potential providers (in the process of becoming licensed or
registered) who will offer care for infants, school-aged children,
mildly ill children, and/or children with specials needs.
- Potential providers (in the process of becoming licensed or
registered) who will offer non-traditional care (weekends,
evenings, etc.)
- Potential providers (in the process of becoming licensed or
registered) who will offer bi-lingual or culturally diverse
programming.
- Potential providers (in the process of becoming licensed or
registered) who will offer care in a geographically isolated
location.
