What is the Nurturing Fatherhood Program?The Nurturing Fatherhood Program is dads who want to enhance their parenting skills, careers, and their relationships!
What will I learn about in the program?Dads will learn self-nurturing skills, parenting without violence or fear, overcoming barriers to nurturing fathering such as anger, alcohol, and stress, positive discipline techniques, developing family rules, teaching values and how to encourage value-based behavior, time management skills, and working with your partner to parent as a team.
Who is eligible for the Nurturing Fatherhood Program?Any father or male role model who is income eligible for Head Start or already enrolled in a Head Start program with a child under the age of 5 years old can participate in the fatherhood classes.
When does the fatherhood program meet?Classes meet once a week for 2.5 hours for 12 weeks. Evening and daytime classes are available. This program is free of charge and includes childcare and a meal. Transportation is also provided for those living in Binghamton, Johnson City, or Susquehanna Valley School Districts.
