What is the Marriage and Parenting Program?
Marriage and Parenting is a program designed for couples who have completed the Within Our Reach Program. The classes allow couples to continue to enhance their relationship skills while also learning positive parenting techniques.
What will I learn in the Marriage and Parenting Program?
With the addition of new relationship building activities, spouses/partners learn about themselves and each other, while creating a shared vision for family life. Topics covered include the Roots of Marriage and Parenting, Family Leadership, Sharing Power, Feelings: The Spice of Relationships, Discipline and Teamwork, Communication, Resolving Conflicts, Family Life Schedule, and Family Fun.
Do I need to be married to attend the Marriage and Parenting Program?
No, all couples are welcome to attend regardless of marital status.
When do Marriage and Parenting classes meet?
Evening classes are offered once a week for 9 weeks and are typically 2.5 hours. This program is free of charge and includes childcare and a meal. Transportation is also provided for those living in Binghamton, Johnson City, and Susquehanna Valley School districts.
